-2 Corinthians 4:8-9 KJV
We all thrive for perfection but sometimes perfectionism kills the spirit of gratitude. We tend to get blind sided by the blessings that flow into our lives; forgetting what the main objective is. So what is the main objective? I’m glad you asked! The objective in life is to serve God, we do this by glorifying Him with our lives.
Storms arise so we can appreciate the rainbows in our skies that God has promised to us. But how do we keep the joy going? How do we continue to glorify God as we are going through our storms? I can admit I endured my storm with the new job I told you all about. Can I have an honesty moment? For some reason I felt like I wasn’t meant for the job. I battled with this for a week and a half.
Remember that moment I endured difficulty in getting the job because of the knuckle head boys? Well, that was the start of my storm (or maybe it started before). I began training and though I’d notice a lot of the hardships I was facing, I’d break out on my lunch breaks and 15’s to pray.
Here was where the enemy was playing tricks on my mind or maybe it was a sign from God that He was giving me revelation about something I prayed about. During my training, I felt like I was the most outspoken, most energetic… and even when I wasn’t trying on a few of the days, I surpassed my classmates with no effort sometimes when it came to “classwork”. I would probably be considered the “teacher’s pet” if we were all back in grade school.
However, that wasn’t the case. Trainer #1 tried to find any mistake in my work or wanted to prove me wrong so bad even when everything was correct. I had to woosah and pray cause BAYBAY, that’s a pet peeve of mines. It was as if Trainer #1 wanted me to fail so bad as my classmates made countless of mistakes that held us back from our lunch breaks. (I didn’t mind this though because I was patient and even took moments to talk to my classmates about ways to improve their work.)
Test day had finally came and here’s the new update: I did pass the 1st part of my test with an 94% but Trainer #2 approached me when we finally got to the floor training to notify me that the 2nd part of my test I got an 83%. She went on to explain that she made a mistake for 3 of the questions, forgetting to tell me further instructions that wasn’t even written on the paper so she had to deduct points.
Oooohhhh, y’all know how heated I was? First of all, I come from a household that we’re not to come home with anything lower than an “A” or a “90%”. I don’t care if I’m an adult, I will forever thrive for greatness as long as God sustains me! So yes, I was upset, but I prayed.
