Lately, the Holy Spirit has been truly desiring to not only build a strong structure of marriage but also to fine tune existing unions as well. Today we will be dwelling on 1 Peter 3:7 KJV and it says “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”
You may be in a marriage that your partner has a hard time developing a relationship with God or probably doesn’t believe in the Lord at all. Here’s what you need to do: be submissive to your husband, not inferior to him, but out of respect for the responsibilities he takes on as the husband and his accountability with developing a better relationship with God. It is highly recommended That you partner with your husband walking with Christ. Your godly life as a wife will encourage and without discussion win over your husband to live an obedient lifestyle with the Lord.
Which leads to my next point, husbands, be understanding of your wife. Be gentle, be tact in diffusing difficult situations, and have intelligent thoughtfulness for your marriage. Honor your wife and respect her as a fellow heir of the grace of life.
What are the benefits of treating your wife and husband in such ways you may ask? 1. It keeps your relationship with God from becoming worn and dismantled. 2. Prayers will be answered and not thrown to the wayside by God. 3. You all will receive the godly inheritance, “the grace of Life”. This life I speak of is a fruitful life here on earth and an eternal life with the Lord. Therefore, don’t leave your partner high and dry, in lieu being heirs, joined together in God’s purpose and beneficiaries of God’s Promise. Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, help us as individuals to live God-Honoring lives to strengthen each other’s walks in Christ. We know Lord that if we lead by example that our partner who loves You will also be willing to follow the example You’ve created us to be. God bless future marriages and present unions that they may only reflect the standards what Your Word says. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.
